Well friends it was with a very heavy heart that we had Ronin euthanized today.  The past two weeks he had noticeably dropped weight, and three days ago started producing urine that was thick and not normal when catheterized.  He was on the beginning end of a pretty nasty urinary tract infection, and was just starting to get uncomfortable.   Letting our dear friend take his place among the stars was the most humane decision we could make.
Jesse and I are proud that we were able to give him a year and a half of quality life since his accident and hate that things didn't turn out differently for our beloved friend.

THANK YOU to everyone who prayed for him, and who kept him in their thoughts and hearts.  He can now watch over us and his baby Tristan forever.

To Ronin, Ro-Ro, "The Koolest Kat I'll Ever Know" -  We love you buddy. <3

Ronin is our loss prevention.  This dedicated domestic short hair keeps our feed under constant surveillance.

UPDATE:
Ronin was injured in the line of duty a few days ago- He is now hospitalized and in very critical condition.  He needs everyone's prayers and good thoughts. Thanks so much for visiting his page.

Ronin is still not out of the woods yet, but he is still very happy and alert.  Please continue to keep him in your thoughts and prayers.  Thanks!

Thank you everone, again, for keeping us in your prayers.  Ronin is still here with us!!  For those of you that don't know the story...

Ronin was fearlessly guarding our drive-way from preditors who might come to hurt baby Tristan, who was still in his mom's belly, when "OUT OF NO WHERE!" came a big truck tire!!  The cowardly tire didn't even announce it's attack before biting his tail and pulling it away from him!!  It hurt so bad, and Ronin was so angry that the tire was not willing to fight fair, he ran screaming under his house.  Had he not run, he felt he would have turned around and killed the lousy tire... And as tough as Mighty Ronin is, he would never really want to hurt anybody- much less kill them!!
Well, the next thing he knew his Mom (Holly) and Dad (Jesse) were rushing him to mom's work, (the animal hospital), and he was given medications for pain.  He told the doctor and technician that he really didn't need the medication, he was a strong cat, but the doctor insisted.
The doctor also insisted he stay a little while, so that pictures could be taken (x-rays) and he could be watched over in case he was in shock.
"Pff- The only shock I'm in is that that stupid tire came after me like that!" Ronin thought as he listened to the doctor's orders.
That's the last thing he remembers for a little while...  See, Ronin is a very strong kitty, but he was much sicker than he realized, and everyone at the hospital knew it.  The next few days he was given very strong sedatives and pain relievers.
When he came to he was sitting in the litter box, and Ronin realized something!  He had to go to the bathroom, but nothing would come out!!  His bladder hurt!!   This just doesn't make sense at all!!
When that coward of a dumb tire had pulled his tail away from his body it damaged nerves that allowed him to go potty on his own.  Once this was discovered it was not good-  Mom and Dad didn't know what they would do... The only thing they knew was that no matter what they would do everything they could for him, just as long as that twinkle stayed in his eyes.
Well-  Seven months later, here we are!!  Sweet Ronin is still unable to go potty by himself, but once a day Mom and Dad take 10 minutes to catheterize him and help out.   He squints his eyes the whole time, hoping, of course, that the other cats are not watching to make fun of him later.  However, what he does not know, is that everyone knows what is going on-  He is just loved so much that they look the other way and pretend he is normal- Because the other 23 hours and 50 minutes of the day... he IS!!  His treatment may not last forever, but for right now- He is okay. (Other than being a little angry that he is no longer allowed outside to guard over Tristan- Now he must guard over sweet, old, Lacy- the golden retriever- But he doesn't mind that part much! Lacy loves Ronin and is a very warm soft pillow for him!)

Every night, Ronin lays on his dad's lap, and kneeds his chest, while they sit by the fire, thankful to have one another.  We don't know how long this will last, we're taking it one day at a time, but we are thankful for every moment of having him with us.

We are so thankful for all of the support from the animal hospital, our friends and from our family.

I am pleased to let everyone know that Ronin is still ding well. He is a very tough guy.
